Why we built Holylovelybody as ritual, not routine

Holylovely Body was born in 2020 from a quiet dream and a deeply personal journey. As a child, I was always drawn to the cosmetic aisle. While others passed by, I would stop and admire the colors, the textures, and the possibilities. Even then, I felt it—I wanted to create, to understand, to have my own laboratory one day. Growing up, I discovered a natural strength in biology, chemistry, and physics. Those subjects came easily to me and shaped the path I chose. That is what led me to pursue a degree in biochemistry, where I could deepen my understanding and bring my curiosity to life. But my connection to skincare was not just academic—it was personal. At one point, influenced by those around me, I began using skin-bleaching products. At the same time, I was living with urticaria, experiencing constant itching, sensitivity, and discomfort. When I moved to Canada, the harsh climate made everything more intense. My skin became extremely dry and reactive, and nothing I tried seemed to truly soothe it. It was frustrating, exhausting, and deeply discouraging. Then, during my graduate studies, something shifted. As part of a social committee, I helped organize a soap-making workshop. What began as a simple activity became a turning point. For the first time, I was not just using products—I was creating them. That moment sparked something powerful: the realization that I could create solutions for myself and for others. From there, my journey became intentional. I took specialized courses in skincare formulation, learned how to craft creams, earned a diploma in clinical aromatherapy, and another in medical aesthetics. Step by step, I was building knowledge, skill, and purpose. Holylovely Body was created from that intersection of science and lived experience. It is a brand rooted in understanding, guided by knowledge, and driven by care for sensitive and reactive skin. But more than that, Holylovely Body is not just a skincare routine—it is a ritual. A moment to slow down, to reconnect with yourself, and to care for your skin with intention and respect.
